This is my e-mail address that I will be writing you from. On my second day here I was called to be district leader. There are eleven missionaries in my district. Elder Bowerman and Elder Barker are in it as well (the two elders who mom told me about through missionary moms). Life here is amazing the spirit is everywhere and you learn things faster than you thought possible, although it doesn't always feel like it. I am grateful for this gospel and happy to have the opportunity to learn more about it. I'm sure you want to know what things are like down here. So my room fits six. Three of them are guys I met from the airport, Elder Carpenter, Elfer Feller, and my companion, Elder Barker. We get to more roomates in a couple of weeks from now and they will be Brazilizan missionaries. It'll help us learn more Portuguese and them learn more English. I met Elder Steadman, he is someone Uncle Brad told me to look for. He knows grandma, grandpa, Brad, Kirk, Sue, and Shannon but he does not know you dad. We have one of the best rooms in the CTM, it over looks the city we are on the top floor. We see the sunset all of the time. The food here is pretty good. We eat lots of Brazilian foods and drinks and sometimes American stuff. We drink plenty of Guarana, I am pretty sure dad knows what that is, have him tell you about it. I am struggling a little bit with the Portuguese but it is coming along. I have learned to pray and bare my testimony in Portuguese (not very well though). I have so many stories to tell and I have only been here for a week. The other day Elder Barker and I locked our key in the bedroom and so did our roomates. When Elder Barker and I went to get the sister in charge of opening doors in this kind of situation she has a rule. You have to sing all the way to your room. I just so happen to be on the top floor. We sang called to serve, Follow the prophet and Jesus wants you for a sunbeam all the way up the stairs. It echoes in the stairwells too. I wish I could tell you so much more but my time is limited on the computer and I had trouble registering for my e-mail. Today is my first P-day and I still have to go pick up my Brazilian money, do laundry, and see the town. Talk to you next Tuesday! I love you all!
Tchau!

Elder Bullough

Thanks for posting James' email. He sounds great. It doesn't surprise me that he is the district leader. He is such a sharp kid.
