Week 3!

September 15,2009

Hey everyone!

I officially start my 4th week here at the CTM tomorrow. This is
crazy! I am almost halfway through my stay at the CTM already! So how
are things back home? I gave my companion Elder Barker a blessing the
other day. He has been really sick and has an ear infection in both
ears. Our entire district has been sick at least once and one of them
was even put in isolation, which is where they stay on a floor with
just sick people. I was the last to get sick. I thought I had dogded
it but did not. I am not super sick or anything so do not worry, but
I am feeling sick. Elder Barker and I have been working more and more
on giving the 1st lesson in portuguese. We are really getting it
down. We have also recently started practicing the 2nd lesson in
english. This week hasn't been too eventful. I did get all of your
letters and I loved them. Getting mail here is the best thing ever.
If you are ever stressed out around here or something, a letter makes
it better. There are definately some people out here who are not
prepared and because of this I have some words of advice. If you want
to serve foreign you cant be a picky eater. If you want to serve a
mission at all, make sure that you are the one that wants you to go
and not your parents. You have to be able to deal with separation
from your family and you have to be up for a challenge. The spirit
helps you, but things aren't always easy. One kid left because he
felt that he wasn't ready. One elder is thinking about leaving
because his testimony was week and he somehow fell into some anti
church literature and doesn't know if the church is true anymore. One
kid has lost 20 pounds already because he is too picky with the food.
He also has special permission to call his family daily because he
has already recieved 35 letters from his family. He is homesick and
apparently his family misses him a little too much. I did not get an
e-mail when I got on today so this e-mail is a bit shorter because I
dont have any questions to answer for you. Just know that things are
well and starting to click.

I love you all!

Hey!I know I just sent you a letter a second ago but now I just got yours. I will make this short. Elder Barker and I get along really well when it comes to teaching the gospel and what not. As for roomates or good friends we argue alot. The things we argue about are silly, but we do argue. Elder Barker is from Orem Utah. Right after I finished typing that last letter (I am currently typing at Mr. Cheney cookies) I found out that I had a package of some sort. Thanks for the food! I came back to check one last time if you had sent me a letter and you did! Yay! Every Tuesday is my P-day. Today we did not go to the temple so we had more time to do things so I got to check my e-mail sooner than usual. If you send your e-mails every monday things will be great! I did get all of your letters. Thank you, I responded to each of them. Talk to you later, and keep the letters coming! Woo Hoo!
